5 Ways to Provide High-Quality, Valuable Content For Your Social Media -2025

Creating valuable content for your social media can be challenging.

There can be several reasons why you struggle to publish great content. Do you know what you want to talk about but don't know how to write it out? Do you struggle with Imposter Syndrome and feel that your content isn't good enough? Do you know how to tell if the content you have is of value?

Keeping a journal nearby to jot down great ideas for content can be very helpful.

As a Social Media Manager, it's my job to create valuable content for myself and my clients, and it's not easy. It requires constant research.

The questions I have to ask are: What are their pain points? What demographic is my target audience in?

"A target audience is a group of consumers characterized by behavior and specific demographics, such as female extreme athletes between the ages of 18 and 25," according to Hubspot

For example, someone asked me if I felt she should look for Yoga teachers on LinkedIn. I told her that I didn't suggest LinkedIn as her platform of choice because she likely wouldn't find many Yoga teachers there.

These questions should be considered when producing high-value content. So, here are five key tips for providing high-quality, valuable content for your audience:

1. Know your audience. To post great content, you must know your audience's pain points. What problems are they facing, and how can you solve them?

For instance, if you're a Career Coach and your target market is single moms, what would be a problem they face? One problem could be: How to search for the right job that will give them an option to work from home when their child is sick. Knowing their pain points will require research that can include surveys, polls, interviews, and more.

Knowing your audience also includes knowing where your audience is. Your content may be high-quality, but if you're putting it where your audience isn't, it won't go very far.

Take the time to research where your audience is so you can make sure it's getting in front of the right people, and you're not wasting your time.

2. Stay on top of what your competitors are doing. Your competitors are not your enemies. Their content is still great - and it is still shareable - but one thing that you should always be doing is keeping an eye on their content.

What information are they not covering? Is it engaging? What can I do to create content that covers what they missed?

Doing this will set you apart from the rest and make your content well-favored over others.

3. Be authentic. You can have great content, but make sure it's authentic. What does that mean? It means that your content is genuine, honest, and trustworthy. It shows your personality, your voice, and your brand.

When you provide links to outside content, are the sources credible? Does your voice show what you value? Do your values hold true throughout all of your content?

If you answered no, then you won't be seen as authentic, and your followers won't see any value in your content.

4. Invest in a course. Whether you invest your time or money, it's a good idea to take courses that will help you grow in your field. This will give you invaluable knowledge and information that you can share with your audience.

For example, resumes don't look the same as they did ten years ago. Health and wellness doesn't look the same as it did five years ago, so how do you keep up with those changes?

Try taking 30 minutes a day to complete an online course.

If you take time to stay on top of product and service changes, your audience will trust your valuable content much more than your competitors.

5. Be consistent. Is your brand consistent across all of your platforms? Does it include the same profile picture, the same content, and the same voice?

When your audience looks at your content across all platforms (because they are looking) and sees that you're being consistent, that will also build their trust, which will lead them to see your content as high-quality.

If you follow these key tips, eventually you should see increasing engagement with your content such as likes, follows, and shares.

Sharonda
